Press Release on the Paris Attack

The Islamic Centre strongly condemns the cowardly attacks in Paris last Friday (13th November 2015) in the strongest words possible. We stand with the victims at this moment and pray for peace in Europe and indeed the entire world. 

These acts of terrorism were not carried out by Muslims, but by faithless people who do not possess an ounce of humanity and love. True Muslims are disgusted that such acts of brutality have been carried out in the name of Islam. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was sent to extend love, mercy and compassion for all, not to sow the seeds of violence and animosity. 

The Muslim population of Leicester will continue to work hard to mute the poisonous ideology of extremists, wherever in the world it is being promoted. True Muslims are against terrorism, regardless of its source or target. The killing of innocent men, women and children is not sanctioned at all in Islam; rather it is vehemently prohibited.
