Due to the coronavirus pandemic the following restrictions and recommendations will apply at both the Leicester Central Mosque (Conduit Street) and Islamic Centre (Sutherland Street) from Saturday 21st March until further notice:

• The wuza and toilet facilities will be closed. All Muslims will be expected to perform wuzu from home and access to facilities will not be granted.
• Handshakes and hugs will not be conducted.
• All religious programmes and gatherings in both mosques are suspended. This includes the upcoming Shab-e-Miraj and Shab-e-Baraat gatherings.
• The madrassa will be closed until further notice.
• The elderly and those with long term illnesses are requested not to attend any jamaat including juma.
• Anyone with even mild symptoms of any kind should not attend the mosque.
• Muslims will be requested to pray non-fard (sunnah, Witr Nafl etc) before or after jamaat at home and not at the mosque.
• All prayers will be shortened along with the juma khutba.
• Access to the mosque outside of jamaat times will be restricted.
• All Muslims are requested to bring their own small prayer mat or cloth and ensure no one uses it.
