Petition for the inclusion of a prayer room in the new Shires Shopping Centre extension in Leicester.

Salaah (prayer) is a fundamental part of a Muslim's daily life and needs to be performed five times a day. With a sizable muslim community in the uk, with over 40,000 working and residing in Leicester, the inclusion of a prayer room is of paramount importance to cater for the needs of staff as well as shoppers.

Such a facility is already in place at the Trafford Centre, Manchester and we fail to see why a similar facility cannnot be incorported into the new extension.

We hope that the Shires management, local councillors and people in authority who can help will take our views into account.
