Claire Livingstone: Our visit today

Today we brought 17 boys to your Mosque and were shown round by Parvez, who was a wonderful host. He taught the boys lots and they thoroughly enjoyed the visit because of Parvez's easy style of speaking to them which really got them on-side. I would recommend that any school group go to find out more about Islam and Muslim practices and beliefs, it really brought it to life for us.

Miss A: School visit

Our children really enjoyed their visit to the Central Mosque. Parvez, our host quickly built up an excellent rapport with the children and the staff. The tour of the mosque was done very well and children were able to ask questions which were answered back clearly and in detail which allowed children to gain a good understanding of the mosque and religion Islam. I would recommend other schools to visit the central mosque as it allows children to gain a better understanding of the place of worship and Islam. Additionally Parvez was very quick at responding to emails and arranging a visit that suited us. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Mr Patel: School visit

Children from Stokes Wood Primary School enjoyed an informative (and entertaining) visit to Central Mosque. Our guide, Parvez, quickly built up an excellent rapport with the children, allowing them free rein to ask questions throughout the tour and supporting them in gaining a better understanding of Islam. Pupils learned more through the visit than they would have done by simply reading books or watching videos. Also, learning about the religion as it is truly practised by the community helped the children to address any misconceptions that they had about the faith. We would thoroughly recommend any school to arrange a visit to Leicester Central Mosque!

Line Nyhagen: University class visit

This is the second year that Parvez and the Leicester Central Mosque Leicester are hosting visits by students on the Religion and Society module I teach at Loughborough University (School of Social, Political and Geographical Sciences). Today, more than sixty students enjoyed two very informative and fun visits that support knowledge and learning related to the lives of British Muslims in particular and also the role of religion in UK society more widely. The visits also forge valued links between the university and the wider community in which we live and work.

Thank you very much Parvez for giving so generously of your time, for giving us an unforgettable tour and for showing us your beautiful mosque.

A. Smith: Primary School Visit

10th March 2016

We brought our year group of seventy 9 and 10 year old children to visit the mosque this morning as part of our Religious Education learning on Islam.

We cannot thank the mosque, and in particular ,our guide, highly enough.

The trip was fantastically organised and we were made to feel extremely welcome during our visit. Our guided tour was informative, fun and totally at the right level for our learners.

ALL of our staff members (and the parents who joined us) said what a success the trip was and how much we had enjoyed it.

An enormous thank you to our guide who made the experience brilliant.

Stuart Ward: School visit

We were fortunate enough to visit during the course of the last week to this wonderful mosque. We brought over 120 children and adults over two days. Following a last minute call to Parvez, he was able to fit us in for both days, and also made a room available for the kids to eat their lunch after the visit. Each tour lasted about an hour each day and the kids ranged from 8 to 11 years old. Parent was nothing short of brilliant. His enthusiastic yet informative and fun style of presentation was both engaging and entertaining and every single person who had the pleasure to visit was bowled over by the warm welcome we received. Truly cannot thank Parvez enough for his hospitality and for giving up his free time to show us round. The children learnt so much and couldn't wait to share their learning upon their return to school. All in all it was a really special treat.

Thanks for giving us the time to share this special treat with the children. It will live long in the memory.

Parvez....you're a star!

Best wishes

St Peter and St Paul Academy, Syston: School Visit

Our year 6 had a very warm welcome and extremely informative visit to the mosque today.

Staff highly praised the way Parvez talked to the children, and answered their questions and misconceptions.

It was felt that the visit was a very worthwhile experience  in terms of consolidating the children's understanding of Islam and also helped extend their learning.

Our thanks to everyone at Central Mosque, we hope to return again in the future.

Arshad: How to Pray Namaaz

Please could there be a posting (either instructions in English) or a video in English showing the correct way to pray each of the 5 daily sulaah. If one looks on the internet (youtube for example) there are so many variations on how to pray, for example on Magrib prayer some video's suggest raising hands to the ears at the start of the 3rd rakat and saying Allah Akbar where on other videos this is not done. I think this would be very helpful for children and new comers to the religion that pray at Conduit street. I have noticed on Eid Salah many of the congregation still get the movements wrong when raising hands to ears or moving into Ruku. Please teach us the correct way via this excellent website.

Thank you.

A Brother: Website change

Always loved this website, the quick view salah times is missing from the refresh, any chance it could be integrated in a colum.

Keep up the good work.

S: Website

Great website - just one comment - the Salah times for the day are no longer available on the home page. I made much use of this on my phone.

Please can you consider putting it back up on the home page?

I was looking at the forthcoming programme and events. There is an event on jihad and another on sheiks. Both are very interesting and I would very much like to attend. However, I'm going to be able to. Will you be doing any live feeds or have the presentations available to watch afterwards? Your helps is much appreciated.

Grateful thanks from St Philip's Centre for hosting 2 visits from John Ferneley College in Melton Mowbray in February.  The feedback from the teachers was excellent - the pupils enjoyed their time with you and learned such a lot about Islam.  They are keen to visit again.  Especial thanks to Parvez for his lively and professional presentation.

Birchwood Special School

We visited the Mosque on Tuesday 5th February 2014. Parvez was our tour guide and was extremely informative and made the tour very interesting for the children. The children loved learning about the Muslim culture and Parvez did a great job in showing us all the different parts of the Mosque and talking us through the prayers and wash rituals. Have recommended visit to members of staff in school.
